Splash!In May 2021, Amanda Pintore developed Splash!, a socially-distanced, drive-in performance for 0-6 year olds and their families. Through the Lawrence Arts Center Play Lab research series, she collaborated with children and their families outdoors. In these research sessions, they explored the world of soap, water, and bubbles and, as a result, Splash! is based entirely on the ideas that emerged. This performance was built in partnership with the Lawrence Arts Center arts-based preschool and kindergarten.
The research, rehearsal, and production processes were done entirely outdoors and the performance was built for twelve families to experience at a time. Families had the option between participating from inside of their vehicles or in their own personal outdoor "splash zone". Amanda Pintore served as the lead researcher, director, and a performer on this project. Lawrence Arts Center
