Color PlayIn fall of 2018, Amanda led the Lawrence Arts Center (KS) and the Center of Creative Arts (MO) in a partnership to create Color Play, a performance for 2-6 year-olds and their caregivers. She collaborated with adult artists, very young children, and their educators through a series of Play Lab research sessions in both cities. Research participants explored questions like: What does blue sound like? What does green do when it wakes up in the morning? How does orange dance? As a result, both productions of Color Play were based entirely on the ideas that emerged. This production was built in partnership with Douglas County Head Start and the Flance Early Learning Center.
Very young audiences entered an interactive world where colors make noises, have wild dances, and create delightful surprises. The performance featured live music, exploratory art, and moments of interaction with the audience. Amanda Pintore served as the lead researcher, director, and a performer on this project.
