DotWhat if we danced the way that children draw? Through the Lawrence Arts Center Play Lab research series, performers in Dot explored how children ages 2-5 move their bodies when they paint; the choreography and live painting in Dot was directly inspired by these children and their caregivers. In the performance, very young audiences entered a blank world made of paper that adult dancers transformed through color, line, and shape over the course of the performance. Audience members experienced dancing, painting on stage, live music, and moments of interaction with the performers. Amanda served as the lead researcher, dancer, and choreographer on this project.
