Dot

In spring of 2018, Amanda developed Dot, an interactive dance performance for 2-5 year-olds and their families. She collaborated with adult artists, very young children, and their families through a series of Play Lab research sessions. Research participants experimented with dancing and painting at the same time and, as a result, Dot is based entirely on the movement that emerged.

In the performance, very young audiences entered a blank world made of paper that adult dancers transformed through color, line, and shape over the course of the performance. Audience members experienced dancing, painting on stage, live music, and moments of interaction with the performers.

Amanda Pintore served as the lead researcher, dancer, and choreographer on this project.
