AtmosphereIn November of 2019, Amanda Pintore partnered with visual artist Sharon McCaman in the development of Atmosphere, a participatory installation and performance for 2-6 year olds and their families. Through the Lawrence Arts Center Play Lab research series, she collaborated with children and teachers at Ballard Center, an early childhood center in Lawrence, KS. In these research sessions, they explored light, wind, clouds, rain, and sky and, as a result, built the production of Atmosphere based entirely on their ideas.
The interactive (and touchable!) installation, designed by Sharon McCaman, ran free to the public for six weeks. The ticketed performances of Atmosphere featured live music, dancing, and tactile exploration. Amanda Pintore served as the lead researcher and director on this project. Lawrence Arts Center
