in the way down deep

In spring of 2023, Amanda developed in the way down deep, an interactive performance for 2-6 year-olds and their families. Through coursework at Arizona State University, undergraduate and graduate students at ASU served as collaborators in the research, devising, and performance process. The entire team collaborated with children and educators at the ASU Child Development Lab through a series of Play Lab research sessions. Research participants explored the environment and inhabitants of the deep sea and, as a result, in the way down deep was based entirely on the ideas that emerged.
