A Midsummer Night's Dream: Fantasy on the Dance FloorAmanda worked with nineteen 14-18 year olds to create a unique interpretation of A Midsummer Night's Dream that invited the audience directly on stage for a night club-style performance.
Filled with lip syncing, this adaptation paid homage to the legacy of Drag Queens and Drag Kings. The boisterous pop soundtrack was filled with music by artists that celebrate and represent the LGBTQ+ community. The visual aesthetic was inspired by 70’s glam, androgyny, and spaces/ideas of celebration. This production was a love letter to the Queer and Trans community in Lawrence, in Kansas, and beyond.
